In United States:
Feb 12 - 14: Group Orientation in Southfield, MA.
In India:
Feb 14 - 15: Flight to India
Feb 16 - 17: Delhi – Arrival, orientation, introductory language lessons, and visits to key cultural and religious sites in Delhi
Feb 18 - 19: Agra – visits to Taj Mahal, Keoladeo National Park, Fatehpur Sikri and other important historical sites.
Feb 20 - Mar 11: Jaipur – Homestays; Hindi language study; Guest Lectures and Field Trips on Rajasthan History and Culture and Comparative Religions such as Jainism, Hinduism, and Islam; Independent Study Projects; Excursion to Pushkar
Mar 12 - 13: Delhi – Visit to important cultural and historical sites
Mar 14: Travel to Bir
Mar 15 - 19: Intro to Buddhism Retreat – Deer Park Institute
Mar 20 - Apr 9: Dharamsala/McLeod Ganj – Homestays; Hindi and/or Tibetan language study; Guest Lecturers and Field Trips on Buddhism, Tibet Today, and Approaches to Activism; Independent Study Projects; Possible excursions to Tso Padma or Tashijong.
Apr 10 -13: Amristar – Site of the Sikh pilgrimage center the Golden Temple, experience nightly ritual flag-lowering ceremony at the Wagah Border, Jallianwalabagh.
Apr 13: Delhi – Visit to important cultural and historical sites
Apr 14 - May 4: Leh – Acclimatization; Walking tours of Leh Old Town and Shanti Stupa; Day excursions to Thiksay and Shey Gompas; Visit to Hemis Gompa and nearby hermitages; Homestays in Domkhar Village; Group service project; Possible language study; Trek
May 5: Delhi – Visits to important religious and historical sites
May 6 - 11: Student-Led Portion
May 12 - 13: Delhi – Visits to important religious and historical sites; Re-entry Session
May 14: Flight to USA
